Press Release: Babes Around Denver's First Friday Marks 50th Milestone and 8th Anniversary with March Celebration. Largest Monthly Women’s Party in the U.S. Commemorates Two Monumental Achievements with a Colossal Celebration This March

Denver, CO  — February 11, 2011 — The nation’s largest monthly women’s party, First Friday, marks both its 50th collaborative event with Tracks nightclub and 8th anniversary with a monumental anniversary celebration party event “Glitz” Friday, March 4, 2011 at Tracks/Exdo nightclub in Denver.
The  gala celebration will feature something for everyone, with country music by DJ Shannon, top dance beats/retro/hip hop/house  from DJ Trina J and DJ Markie, performances by Almost MJ, Dream Project Dancers and The Wicked Little Girl go-go dancers and complimentary appetizers by Ciolo Foods, all wrapped in a golden theme. Doors open at 6pm. Cover is $5 from 6-9 and $7 from 9-close, making it one of Denver’s best entertainment values.
First Friday continues to draw increasing crowds of 1,500-2000  women and other members, friends and allies of metro Denver’s LGBT community ranging from ages 21-75 every month.   First Friday, produced by Dede Frain and Babes Around Denver, is the biggest and longest running monthly women’s party in the country and makes its home in Denver.
A portion of First Friday’s proceeds goes to charitable organizations benefiting the LGBT community, women, and children.  Dede Frain, founder of Babes Around Denver (BAD), organized the original First Friday as a casual happy hour for friends. The event has grown into a much-anticipated monthly party that consistently fills Tracks, Denver’s largest gay nightclub. BAD has received coveted “Best of Denver” and “Readers Choice – Best Club Night” awards from Westword as well as OutStanding awards from OutFront Colorado.
Open to lesbians and their gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, inter-sexed and straight friends, First Friday embodies the spirit of tolerance and excitement that characterizes Denver today.
Babes Around Denver (BAD) has also grown and now hosts a variety of other types of women’s events, including comedy shows, theater nights, singles’ parties, ski outings, women’s business networking events and more.
