06.08.2009 – Denver, CO. — Get out your jetpacks and moon boots because Babes Around Denver (BAD) is presenting a Women’s Party, “Pride in Utopia — A Perfect World,” on Friday, June 26, at the Tracks/EXDO Nightclub, the largest lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) dance club in Denver. The theme is futuristic, so think robots and “The Jetsons” living in a society where everyone is equal and no one is denied their civil rights.
The event features music by DJ Trina J, resident spinner for BAD’s “First Friday,” the nation’s largest monthly women’s party with more than 1,500 attendees every month. Look for a special guest appearance by New York lesbian hip-hop and soul duo God-des and She, known for their infamous song “Lick It” and a cameo on the Season 3 finale of Showtime’s hit series “The L Word.” The evening will also include breathtaking aerial performances, entertainment and dancing by the Avalon Troupe, and so much more.
Babes Around Denver has presented a wide variety of fun, social events to its diverse base of members since 2003. Its signature First Friday event is the largest regular lesbian party in the country. BAD also organizes other social events for Denver-area lesbians, including professional networking, singles parties, wine tastings, theater outings and recreational excursions for outdoor enthusiasts. In both 2008 and 2009, BAD earned coveted “Best of Denver” awards — including the Readers’ Choice Award for “Best Club Night” — from Westword, a popular local weekly paper that highlights activities in the Denver metro area.
Doors open at 7 p.m. Friday, June 26, for “Pride in Utopia — A Perfect World” party at the Tracks/EXDO Nightclub at the corner of 35th and Walnut streets in Denver. Age 21 and older only, please. Cover charge is $10. VIP seating with bottle service is $150 for four people.
